MDJ Saieva's Mission Statement
Greetings to My Ongoing Supporters and Future Voters,
It is my privilege to serve as your Magisterial District Judge, a position I’ve held for five+ years. My districts previously included Houston Borough, Chartiers Township (including Meadowlands), Canonsburg Borough, and Canton Township. An official redistricting of
27-2-01 went into effect in January 2024. My assigned jurisdiction now serves North Strabane Township, Canonsburg Borough, and Houston Borough.

Before becoming your Magisterial District Judge, I dedicated my career as a police officer with the Canonsburg Borough Police Department, proudly retiring after 25 years of service. During that time, I attended and prosecuted numerous court cases involving various crimes under the Pennsylvania Crimes Code and Vehicle Code. I investigated many incidents involving victims, suspects, and defendants.
I was involved in a domestic violence-related ambush attack while working in the line of duty on November 10, 2016, resulting in personal injury, and tragically the loss of my partner and friend, Officer Scott L. Bashioum. After experiencing such a tragedy, I've gained a deeper understanding of the emotional and psychological toll scenarios can have on the victims, their families, and communities. Throughout my time as a police officer, I've learned the true value of service and dedication. This experience, combined with my years of service in law enforcement, along with my education, led me to a calling to become a magisterial district judge, allowing me the honor to continue protecting and serving my communities.

I hold three values close to my heart: humility, integrity, and accountability. These principles guide my work as a Magisterial District Judge, and I am committed to ensuring that everyone who enters my courtroom is met with respect and professionalism.

As a Magisterial District Judge, I approach each case with openness and fairness, always recognizing the critical importance of due process and accountability. I also understand the challenges that many face when needing to attend their hearing. As part of my commitment to accommodating scheduling needs, Monday hours were adjusted to 10:30-6:00 p.m., eliminating the inconvenience of missing work or school.

Throughout my career, I was honored to receive numerous awards for my service. While accolades are complimentary, I believe it is even more vital to be known within the community as someone trustworthy and transparent with a solid reputation. I have always taken, and will continue to take, my oath as both a police officer and Magisterial District Judge with the highest sense of pride and integrity.

Thank you for your continued support in helping me secure re-election. Your vote matters on Primary Election Day, May 20th.
